On January 6, the Democratic Party of Duplin County hosted a meet-and-greet event at the Country Squire in Warsaw. Various candidates running for statewide offices were welcomed to the event.
Judge Carolyn Thompson, who is seeking election to her seat on the N.C. Court of Appeals, was the first to speak. She was appointed by Governor Roy Cooper and has served as a District Court Judge and Superior Court Judge for over 27 years, presiding over criminal, domestic, juvenile, and mental health proceedings.
